A Late Birthday Treat with The Young Ones

Breakfast!

I had benign positional vertigo when we were supposed to have T's bithday trip to the West Berkshire Brewery (not so benign I can tell you); thus we are here today.  B very impressed, T overpowered by size of burger.  Beers appreciated by all except the DD Ubermeg

BYT's make a mexican dinner after our walk round Yattendon and a look at the Aldworth Giants
Then we relax with Peter Kay's Car Share, beers from the brewery and Early Doors
I hadn't twigged that this is set in Stockport, references to Birdhall Lane and Houldsworth Square make memories of going to the baths on the bus come flooding back!
Some classic Northern wit to end the day

Wedding Anniversary with The Bright Young Things

We are visiting, in intermittent heavy rain showers, Stowe Gardens
L used to rave about it and now I see why.  Wish I'd gone with her instead of grumbled that it was too far.  The volunteers are everywhere and so friendly, engaging and healthy.  We are even given a lift back from the house in a buggie.  It's not that we look old; it was pouring down.  The New Inn  is fascinating, very easy to step back in time.
A cowslip.

Love the hermit hide out; less impressed with the opulence!

Victor Meldrew finds his own spot for a picnic; free of easter egg hunters
Meanwhile the Bright Young Things are skiing at Milton Keynes, J's first lesson; she progressed.
BTW, it's our 28th wedding anniversay, one of us remembered!

Return of the Beast and More

This year we have had a late winter.  Snow in March. Not a lot of fun.  The Corn Exchange could not open and my film The Post was cancelled.  Still, I've ordered the DVD.

Earlier in the week we went to Bexhill on Sea.  We had to stop for a comfort break and I discovered that MacDonalds has had a face lift.  Not too bad after all.

It's chilly but we get sea air then warm up in the De La Warr Pavilion

The Beast from the East

Very cold snap at the start of March.  Here I am : Braved the snow to get to the compost!  Said to T 'I may be some time' like a true Brit but made it back!!!!

West Berks Winter Fun

George the Biscuit Man was here

At the end of January, the LibDems has a nice walk in West Ilskey along a sheep Drove.  East Ilsley's sheep fair was for centuries a major draw. It was the second largest in the UK after London's Smithfield market, and in the 1880's around 20,000 sheep were changing hands in a single day. It finished in 1934 but was resurrected in 1974 as more of a village fete.

Also in January, I was Uber Meg for the beer scoring in Chaddleworth, ending up at  Wickham.  Other drinks, I walk

Outings of Early 2018

In January we went up to Chapel Row to see the new equipment at Tutts Clump
combining the trip with a nice walk
