The first day of July and the hottest ever: time for Lee on the Solent

How nice to escape to the coast.  It is so hot that Hermes the rabbit cannot cope with the garden and has to be moved indoors.  Here he has a big drink and rallies.  Then I am off.  The journey takes 50% longer than it should: boring traffic issues.  A cappucino at the wonderful italian restaurant, Sapori, is step one.  Then it is time to have a chat with Maddy at the #Fish Deli.  It is too hot to buy anything.  Except of course the wonderful local produce available nearby at the friendly fruit shop, All Seasons.   

Then a great walk and sea air at last.  I turn back at Salterns Shore as the sea is calling.  The beach is quiet and I plonk myself just here. 

First two strokes are cold and then perfection kicks in.   I remember why this is my favourite summer activity and promise myself that I will be down here very soon.
