I start the day in Lichfield and for breakfast enjoy delicious strawberries and blueberries; from Aldi!, says M proudly.
Once again I travel via Macclesfield Crematorium to see the plaque and bird feeder of which L would be so proud. On parking I immediately realise I have no map and all the trees begin to look the same. Furthermore, they are in full bloom and obscure my landmark: the distant Pennines. I ring T of N and guide him to my map. This he promptly photos and emails and ..... Eureka!
Take my word for it!
The pond has degenerated. Sad.
The weather is overcast and muggy. It is easy to drive through Prestbury to see my lovely cousins in Gatley.
Navigating all those motorways in Greater Manchester,my next task, is not fun but I am pleased with my driving. The Woodhead pass brings back memories of driving to university in my orange mini van. I am happy to arrive in Penistone and after a walk we enjoy delicious potato fritters with purple beans fresh from the garden. They go green on boiling.
