Inverness to Mull by Public Transport.

Sad to leave Rose Isle, I set off to Mull.  D & P kindly give me a lift to the Bus Station at Inverness. The bus takes us out of town via River Ness.

This widens into Loch Ness

As we traverse the Great Glen, next is Loch Oich

And then Loch Lochie

Finally we approach Fort William

CityLink ensures I have a good connection to Oban and time to get beer and a sandwich in Morrison's. I feel pleased with the buses.  They are a little basic but behave well!

The driver for Oban is a no nonesense Lancastrian.   We take the coast road.  I am interested to pass Ballachulish by bridge.  I remember going on the ferry as a child; it was all part of the fun.  I wonder how many ferries have disappeared and how many new bridges have been built.

In Oban, which I remember well from the frequent trips I made to Mull with my daughter and niece when they were young, there is just time to buy a ticket, have a comfort stop and get on the ferry.  The mobile still works so I can confirm things with the destination.

Good bye to the mainland.  I like the little ferry, which is an extra borrowed from Skye.  It's comfy.  I have tea and nice chats.

We are arriving at Craignure I am excited to be seeing my oldest friend again, after more than a decade.

How lovely to see them and to be back on the croft.  And I have a new friend.  He looks up at me with admiration.  I have no idea why.

Nasturtiums from the garden in my salad.

A beer from the Tobermory Brewery.

Then D and J have to go to feed the lambs in midgey conditions.  Cloudy and still.
