Sixty five years today since my parents' wedding.
Thinking about this, I head off to London to meet their lovely granddaughter, known only to one of them, as my Dad died three years before her birth. However, she enriched my Mum's later life.
We have lunch on the courtyard of the RA website then she takes me into the wonderful Matisse in the Studio
The Moorish Screen 1921
Safrano Roses at the Window
The vase was one of several purchased by Matisse in 1910.
Outside the exhibition, Richard Deacon is showing some of the RA's sculptures. Here is Perseus, Andromeda and Pegasus by the wonderful Lord Leighton, cast in bronze by the RA around 1896.
Sir Alfred Gilbert's 'Sketch for Eros', cast in 1925, was a challenge for the life model. Very yogic. Looks like me on Wednesdays at yoga.
