The Other Half needs refreshment in the Holborn Whippet! Great that summer has come and we can sit outside. I enjoy a Burning Sky Plateau, pale and hoppy, just the job. Himself chooses Mallinson Cascade, stronger and more flavoursome. Here he is doing beer scores.
How lovely to be in Hyde Park twice in one week. I once again admire the irises which I am informed are Flag Iris. Not lilies at all!
Next we head to The Serpentine Sackler.
The Duane Hanson (1925 to 1996) like sculptures seem so real and so true to the human existence. They are ordinary people staring into the distance with sad eyes.
Duane said 'We have what we want and no longer want what we have. Therefore, what we want is not material, but some true belief for our reason for being'. I find this strikes a chord with me and makes sense. In retirement I look back, reflect and explain.
The Serpentine Gallery is sensible and allows photos.
FGW gets us home without problems and we have the last series of Mad Men to enjoy tonight. Fits in with the theme for the day!
