Harewood House

My cousin and I are off to Harewood House, a country pile near Leeds.  It was built in the 18th century for the wealthy Edwin Lascelles, 1st Baron Harewood.  The family still live in the Grade 1 listed building, which has lovely, extensive grounds and gardens.  The are also exotic burds and a stupa.

The head gardener and current Earl worked together on the Himalayan Garden and stupa following trips early this century to Bhutan.

Blue Poppy.

The walled garden is still a working vegetable garden.
