A Morning at The Medical School

We have breakfast in Broomhill then head off to meet up with the group at the medical school. We pass this road and think of our dear departed friend.

Blow me down, the tour leader is a retired GP from Student Health who looked after us.  Memories of the illness and surgery I had as a student come back to me.  Dr B is plus ten years older than ourselves and in the History Group which has done a great job of Interpreting the back story of the medical school.   It has been in existence since 1828, so it is older than the university.  The sources of bodies for dissection make some interesting tales!
We begin to recall with horror that we didn't use gloves for dissection.  The dissecting room technician looked like a ghoul.

A nice time line.

Eric Wilkes was a lovely man, so unlike the hospital bosses.  I think he was the first person to make me realise General Practice was different.

Someone has a photo of me at a Medical Ball, but I have no recollection of these events!

Alan Usher gave us great lectures

Here is my flat mate who appears to have found happiness and the motto has been removed from the site of the original building.

There was no cafe on our day. And no computers.  We are amazed we functioned,  note the date.
