More fun on Governors

After the Urban Farm, we walk and bike on the island




Then it's time for lunch and a pint of Ello Governor, a new beer brewed in Brooklyn.  


Next we look round exhibitions (held in old colonial houses)  about oysters and suffragettes.  Apparently the former were a poor mans food back in the day and really abundant.  Now they are endangered, but coming back. Read about the Billion Oyster Project here
 
There is a marine school on the island.

After the ferry, we cycle for miles along the Hudson from South Ferry back to the apartment. Above we see J at the end of the ride, smile on the face but tired and thirsty.
