The American Wing at The Met

The American Wing is very interesting, historically and artistically.
Here is the opulent sitting room of a well to do New Yorker's home of the mid nineteenth century.  Note the lovely tete a tete


And here a rosewood, pine and mother of pearl cabinet made in 1884-5 which could be said to be in the style of the aesthetic movement


I would love to have a walk in wardrobe Sara Berman's closet






There are many examples of American Arts and Crafts works. 
Below is a late nineteenth century  Lockwood de Forest, stool which links east and west with it's influences from Kashmir



Here is some furniture from the wonderful Frank Lloyd Wright
